The Challenge? 

  • A retailer was aiming to roll out a series of profit improvement initiatives across its various locations in an attempt to drive better margins across the business. The challenge was trying to quantify these opportunities and understand how achievable the initiatives actually were.

  • Point Consulting stress tested the initiatives against proven frameworks and, alongside management, generated quantifiable initiatives by providing an objective viewpoint. We then developed a business case model that enabled the client to ensure all avenues of the projects were covered to ensure successful roll-out. 
  • Point Consulting provided external market insights to enable the client to understand how comparable initiatives had fared, both in and out of industry businesses.

  • Subsequent to the business case validation and external market insight provided, the client was able to roll-out the initiatives with a firm degree of confidence as well as focus on those initiatives that would realise the most significant profit opportunities.
  • Point Consulting also provided the client with a risk analysis and project plan to help track and evaluate the initiatives going forward.
